Another Monday and quite a few dragging bodies. It seems we're all so wore out when we come back to school on Mondays.
In English II we reviewed four more vocabulary words. Our quiz will be on Wednesday. We will finish the last of the words tomorrow. There are several practice activities on Moodle. We then began to work on a Madmen Activity (1st Hour). Because of the early out on Friday, my eighth class has to catch up a bit. You should be working on your next speech outline.
In American Government we spent much of the class period talking about democracy. We discussed the soil that is necessary for democracy to survive. We then evaluated whether the United States has "good soil". We discussed the web of democracy. We will finish up the cartoons on Wednesday. Read the section related to the economy for Wednesday.
Literature 9 is a lot like the English II class. Since we didn't have class on Friday, we have two sections that are at different spots. We focused on text structure at the beginning of the class. It was kind of fun to look at the unusual houses we used as a metaphor for 'structure'. Then we began our lesson on imagery. Since they are writing menus in Mrs. Negus's class, it's fun to see the parallel to what we're reading. The students then went into the autobiography by Maya Angelou and looked for examples of imagery. We will need to finish this part up in seventh hour.
Hope the rest of your day is good! See you tomorrow!
