I had my lesson plans completely done when the SNOWCAP came through with the late start. So within a minute, my lesson plans were behind. The joys of living in Iowa!
In Literature 9 both classes were able to meet. We discussed the use of cause and effect in the short story "The Interlopers". We then reviewed the skills studied during the last several weeks. We then discussed abstracting and how a story can be boiled down to a single concept and then appear in other pieces of literature. Time was given so students could work on their study guide. I hope everyone takes the opportunity to study as this will not be an easy test.
On sixth hour was able to meet today. They finished off their persuasive speeches. They were assigned an exercise about direct and indirect objects on page 44. Hopefully we will be able to finish up during first hour tomorrow.
In American Government we only met for a half of an hour, but we got a lot completed. We finished our discussion of the House of Representatives and began to compare it to the Senate. Even though we didn't get all the material covered, we got close. On Wednesday they will be having a quiz over Chapter 5: Section 2-3.
Law did not meet due to the late start.
Hopefully things will warm up soon. See you tomorrow!
