I know the kids see Day #26 and think, "That's it?" I see Day #26 and I think, "Holy Accelerator Batman, how am I going to get things done?"
In Literature 9 we finally watched my favorite "funny" video Orme. That pig just cracks me up. We finished the vocabulary lesson they started yesterday. Then we moved onto Dramatic Irony. We watched a few movie clips, etc. and then filled out the workshop "Blind Men and the Elephant." We will finish up everything tomorrow and take a quiz over "The Sniper" and "The Leap".
In English 10 we review predicate adjective and predicate nominative. It seems like most are understanding it, but we'll wait and see when all the complements are mixed up. We finished our notes on Vocal and Physical Delivery and Marking our Scripts. Tomorrow they will take a quiz over Vocal Personality, and then spend the rest of the class period marking their scripts and rehearsing.
In American Government we watched the cutest video clip from "3rd Rock from the Sun" about democracy. I then divided everyone up into groups for our UN Directive. Three will represent the G-20 (developed countries); 5-6 will represent the developing countries, and 8-9 will represent underdeveloped countries. As a group you will analyze the problems from the perspective of your group. On Friday those group members will gather, discuss problems, and choose one on which to focus. They will create a presentation for the head of the UN trying to earn the $100 billion dollar grant. We then went to the auditorium and played day #3 of Survivor. It was all about tossing the ping pong balls into the basket, coffee tin, or smaller tin. Where they stood was the determining factor. I developed different scenarios, for example, which government type would handle a financial crisis better? They would then try to analyze which one was better. The more effective they are the closer to the tins. Everyone got three ping pong balls and the points do carry over. It seemed everyone has having "fun", but still focusing on learning about our government.
So tire, I'm struggling staying awake. Good Night!
