I didn't think the blizzard was as bad as predicted. I don't know if that meant we could have the game or tournament, but it seemed like we got snow, but not the wind. Oh well, good luck to the boys' basketball team tonight and the speech team tomorrow night.
In Literature 9, we read for our ten minutes, and then we took our reading check over "Into Thin Air". It wasn't an ideal situation since the weekend had passed since we watched the video or read the excerpt, That's why I sent the Remind in hopes people would take a few minutes and study. By the looks of the scores, that really didn't happen. During first hour we did manage to play a little Kahoot, but not in second hour. Everyone is supposed to work on or finish their study guide in preparation for the test on Wednesday. Originally it was supposed to be tomorrow, but with the game, I couldn't do that. It seemed too mean.
In English 10, we worked on our bibliographies (upload to Moodle), made a copy of our evaluation, and started to create our notecards. For the introduction - 20 words (thesis doesn't count), Problem or Need - 40 words, Solution - 50 words, Visualization, and Call to Action - 35 words, and Conclusion - 20 words. As said in class, if you have a few words beyond the limit, I won't count off. However, you can't write everything out, and the five cards are all you receive. Remember you will be recorded as you present this speech and will be required to evaluate yourself. I hope you all get an opportunity to rehearse tonight. I know the game makes it difficult, but try to get one or two times in.
American Government was all about the test we were supposed to take on Friday, but the two-hour late start stopped that. Watch the YouTube video about the amendment process for Wednesday. There is a handout you should fill out at the same time.
In Law, we reviewed five of the vocabulary words. I had hoped we would get through Crimes against Personal Property, but with the 60's project set-up, we didn't quite get there. The nice thing about law is that's o.k.
Have a great Monday, and again GOOD LUCK BOYS!!!
