I don't know about anyone else, but I was tired yesterday. I don't know why the first day takes so much out of me, but I fell asleep quite early last night.
In Literature 9 we continued to work on our stations. By my calculations, we will be done tomorrow, and then we will continue getting acclimated to my classroom and its procedures. For homework, everyone is to complete 26 Letters of Alphabet. We discussed how this assignment is an activity that encourages collaboration, integrity, and perseverance (three words that appeared in one of the station activities).
In English 10 we also continued working on our stations. We should be done tomorrow, and then it will begin the process of vocabulary, writing, and speaking communications. For homework, everyone has been asked to clean up their G-drives. Delete unnecessary files, create folders for this year's classes. If you have unnecessary video or picture files, delete. I give you permission to delete Literature 9 folders.
In American Literature we started by catching everyone up on my summer and life. You probably don't care, but I like to keep you in the loop. We started the stations' activities as well, but I eliminated stations one and two. We will finish this on Thursday. For homework, please watch a video that was posted to Moodle - The Danger of a Single Story. As you watch there are some notes you are to take. It too is on Moodle (right below the video link). This is due next Tuesday.
I know that it takes awhile for all of us to get in the swing of things, but hopefully it will be a painless transition.
