Seriously - I just need about 10 hours of uninterrupted time to get caught. Who am I kidding - 10 hours, make it 20, but then I think I can be completely caught up. I would say that it would be this weekend, but looking at things personally and for church, I'm not sure that's true either. Anyway - just keep swimming!
In Literature 9 we discussed the chapter entitled "The Knot-Hole Treasures" (my title, not Harper Lee's). We really had some great discussion about this chapter. I'm really surprised (and very pleased) with the depth that everyone seems to be putting into reading the novel. We also started (and in 5th hour finished) a map activity. We will finish tomorrow. Read Chapter 8 tomorrow, along with five vocabulary words.
In English 10 we completed an exercise on prepositional phrases and appositive phrases. I had the feeling that most were o.k., but a few people looked a little lost. Then I wanted to see who completed the Shakespeare Scavenger Hunt notes, so off to Moodle we went. It was obvious that several people didn't even bother. That is so frustrating - it wasn't like it took a long time (AND everyone had three days to complete it!). We finished our study of Social Sciences vocabulary and tomorrow is our test. We ended up with a short discussion of Shakespeare and the Globe.
In American Literature we spent the entire class period discussing Of Mice and Men. What an uplifting couple of hours! Everyone (minus just a few) really seemed to enjoy the book. They were disappointed with the ending, but who isn't? Tomorrow is our unit test over this book. I'm in the process of looking for another book to read for fourth quarter.
In Law we finished our discussion of the Supreme Court. Then time was given so they could play an iCivics game on Supreme Court decision. I hope they were enjoying it. Tomorrow we will have our Friday discussion of legal cases, and hopefully finish up with discussing the Supreme Court's most famous cases.
Have a nice evening everyone!
