I can't believe how quickly the time is flying by. It's almost the end of the first quarter already.
In English II we have a few issues with people not being prepared for their speeches. I hope they begin to understand that speeches in a speech class count as a test score. They are not something they should "wing". We will be working on the next set of vocabulary this week. I think we'll have another quiz before the end of the quarter.
In American Government we finished our notes on the 6 Economic Decisions made by all governments. Then we played a little Rock, Paper, Scissors Economics. Hopefully this 'game" explain the fundamental differences between capitalism, socialism, and communism. We will finish this up on Wednesday and take our test on Friday.
In Literature 9 it was kind of a lecture day. I hate that, but I really don't know what else to do about it. We finished our discussion of imagery and details. Then we introduced the idea of thesis and rhetorical devices. We took quite a few notes as a form of introduction to some key concepts that will be reviewed and expanded on in the next few weeks. We also seemed to have time to review the vocabulary words for the story "Sayonara". We really got a lot done in class, but it probably was just a little boring. I'll try and liven it up tomorrow.
Have a great Monday!
