So many are gone this afternoon for the music and art field trip. I'm jealous as I would love to go as well.
In Literature 9 we spent most of the class period working on 10 illustrations of "Sweet Potato Pie". These pictures should be in sequential order, with a caption that explains why you think this would be a good illustration for the story. Also everyone was encouraged to try and create a cohesive set of pictures - all black and white, Harlem art, etc.
In English 10 we started out reviewing for our complements quiz tomorrow. I sent several on-line practices via email. Then we presented three of the vocabulary words. During 7th hour we had to finish our notes on introductions. Finally I presented the perimeters for our next speech - the personal narrative. Everyone should have a topic ready for class tomorrow. Those that are going to be gone for Cross Country or Football need to pick up an outline.
In American Literature we discussed possible foils for different characters - John Proctor's foil might be John Proctor himself, Reverend Parris - John Hale; Elizabeth Proctor - Abigail Williams, Rebecca Nurse - Mrs. Putnam. Then we watched Act III. It's quite uncomfortable to watch the hanging of innocent people at the end of these scenes. Tomorrow Mr. Judge will be conducting Mayflower Project conferences. Please be prepared.
Good luck to the girls tonight!
