What a morning! We had a wonderful speech breakfast with almost 80 people in attendance. It was such a honor to hand out the large number of awards we did this year. What an outstanding year it's been. Jacob Dickmann received the well-deserved honor of Most Valuable Performer. Congratulations to all the winners and participants!
In Literature 9, we discussed the impact that the trial had on the Finch household. We took a check, and also reviewed all the vocabulary for Chapters 21-23. We're quickly coming to the end of our novel, and with it an amazing climax. For Monday everyone should read Chapter 24 - and realize that what is being said is not necessarily what is being said!
In English 10 we review infinitives (again). We also review Friar Lawrence's soliloquy. Everyone should finish the paraphrase of this long speech. Also on the agenda is completing figurative language related to Act II, Scene 2. We're not just studying Romeo and Juliet for the sake of saying we've read it, but also to study the language and get to be better readers.
In American Government the entire class was devoted to working on running a campaign.
In Law we are continuing with our timeline of criminal procedure. We shared some pretty disturbing news items as well.
All in all, it was a very productive day. Pray for me as I will be trying to survive a "lock-in" at our church. I'm pretty sure I'm too old to be staying up all night.
