I was gone yesterday for All-State speech, so I didn't have the time to blog. Actually I had the time, but didn't really think about it. So I'll combine both Monday and Tuesday into one summary.
In Literature 9, everyone should have the checks for the witnesses' testimony completed (Chapters 18-20). We started to complete a T-chart over the evidence presented and Atticus's cross-examination. Everyone always gets so excited and upset as they realize the injustice done to Tom Robinson, I can't blame them. I've read the book so many times, and yet I get to this part and I wish things turn out differently.
In English 10 on Monday, classes had the opportunity to study for the Act 1 quiz. A review was uploaded to Moodle, and then time was given to take the quiz. Several students said that it was easy, so I'm looking forward to some good grades. Today we finished up our discussion of gerunds (hopefully) by taking a check. We'll be moving onto infinitives. We then read (in pairs) the Prologue to Act II. Then as a class we read Act 2: Scene 2 (Mercutio, Benvolio, and Romeo). Tomorrow we're going to do some fun activities related to the famous balcony scene. (I think they're fun anyway.)
In American Government (on Monday), the class was given the class period to work on their project "Running a Campaign".
In American Literature (on Tuesday), we finished our discussion of Red Badge of Courage. Everyone is supposed to have the packet completed, but I saw a lot of blank papers. We will move onto the Lost Generation on Thursday with presentations and resumes.
In Law we tried to finish up packet, but side-line conversations slowed us down. Tomorrow we are going to have a quiz over Chapter 5-1, so hopefully our ADD will get under check.
