I love my job! I just had fun today, and it really wasn't anything spectacular. I just laughed a lot, and saw some real growth with kids.
In Literature 9 we took our vocabulary test. I didn't notice any tears, and the smoke coming out of their ears was minimal. Then everyone had time to work on their book cover project.
In English 10 we finished the last of our personal experience speeches. It was so inspiring to see kids do better from this speech to the next. So many made time, gave quality speeches, and made some real improvement. We also worked on our subject/predicate speeches as well as organized our notebooks. Tomorrow we'll review subject/predicates and then move onto the next form of speeches.
In American Government we reviewed socialism and communism. We rushed thinking that we had to have the test on Friday, but with grades due on Tuesday, I'm planning on moving the test to Monday (but say we took it on Friday). That gives us a little time to review on Friday.
As said earlier, it was a good day. I'm really happy to see some real growth in my students. Keep up the good work people.
