This is the week that either everything goes right or ...it doesn't? I know that all the work should come together, but there are so many variables that are uncontrollable.
In Literature 9 we shared our virtual museums. Granted the website worked better for some than others, but we discussed that this is a learning opportunity. Either we're going to be the type that when things get frustrating we just quit OR we're going to be the type to either figure it out or find a different way. After we were done with that we took a reading check over "Sweet Potato Pie".
In English 10 we had five vocabulary presentations. Then I shared the information I found on my structure - Iwo Jima. Then we discussed how to organize that information into three workable points - background (history), the structure itself (dimensions, etc.) and finally end with impact (number of visitors, money earned, etc.) We will start giving this speech on Wednesday, so those classes that won't meet tomorrow due to the late start need to be prepared to go on Wednesday.
In American Government it was more boring than I would like, but then again, we all need a little boring sometime. It was about the Articles of Confederation. Just like in our personal lives, sometimes we need to fail in order for things to fall into place later. That was the case with our Constitution. We needed to see what we did wrong in order to move forward and do something right. On Wednesday we will have a quiz over the information we discussed today.
Good luck to all the activities that culminate this week - the football team and their game tonight, the volleyball team and their game on Wednesday, and the drama department and their performances on Friday and Saturday. This is truly a busy week for everyone!
