2007-07-31 Falkirk

Accies went down 2-1 to Premier League Falkirk on Tuesday night, despite changing the whole team in the second half where we had a much younger side out. Richard Offiong made his first appearance of the pre-season, while skipper Alex Neil again sat out the match.

Neil Teggart gave us a 10th minute lead from the penalty spot, after the Ulsterman had been fouled himself, but the home side responded soon after with a header from Michael Higdon in the 20th minute and a curled effort from Kevin Moffatt in 32 minutes. Accies played well for long spells in the game with Brian Easton, Stuart Taylor and Mark Gilhaney all showing up well early on, and Marc McJimpsey again impressing, while the younger second half side - featuring seven teenagers and Brian Wake by far the oldest at 25 - had long spells of pressure thanks to a lot of hard work from Paul McLeod, James McCarthy and Wake.

First half we lined up - Halliwell, Parratt, McLaughlin, McJimpsey, Elebert, Easton, Taylor, McArthur, Offiong, Teggart and Gilhaney.

Second half we lined up - Halliwell (Trialist 75), Trialist, Gibson, McJimpsey (Crawford 56), Elebert (McQueen 68 ), Evans, McCarthy, Stevenson, McLeod, Wake, Davison
