GARDINER, William (1912)

Overview

Earnock Rovers player signed in October 1912. He came to Douglas Park as an outside right but found it was not easy to dislodge John H. McLaughlin and he was transferred to St Johnstone in July 1913.

At the age of 22 he was awarded the Military Medal for his gallantry on 14th April 1917 while a sergeant with his regiment, Scottish Rifles. He lived in Dalzell Street.

Debut on 12th October 1912 in a Scottish League match at home to Hibernian.
