Accies Career

Overview

A former Airdrieonians player having joined the Broomfield club in 1970 from Morton. George was tried by Accies at inside forward in 1971 but without success. He had been with Albion Rovers and Berwick Rangers as well.

His father-in-law is former Hamilton Provost and Accies Director, Robert Sherry. A former pupil of St Andrew’s High School in Coatbridge. While there he appeared 3 times for Scotland, against England (twice) and Wales in 1967-68.

Debut on 18th September 1971 in a Scottish League fixture away to Queen of the South which Accies lost 2-0.
