Stirling Albion 2 Accies 0: Saturday, 21 August 1999

Stirling coasted to a comfortable 2-0 over mangerless Hamilton thanks to first half goals from John McQuade and Chris Wood. Hamilton, with just one league win since last October, looked in shock following the recent resignation of manager Colin Miller. Caretaker Ally Dawson took charge, but his side were never in the hunt. Albion took the lead after 12 minutes when McQuade beat Chris Reid from 15 yards. Nine minutes later Wood drove in the second from just outside the box. Stirling also hit the woodwork twice, while Accies rarely threatened although Nicky Henderson twice forced good saves from James Gardner.
