POPE, Alfred (1943)

Overview

Ex-Heart of Midlothian, Raith Rovers and Blackpool full back. He appeared in season 1942-43 in a cup match against his former team and was in a victorious Hamilton eleven which won 5-0. Started his career with Harrogate Town. Leeds United used him during 1934 and he was also with Halifax Town. Born at Lofthouse. During the war he appeared for Liverpool, Birmingham City and Leeds United.

Debut on 20th March 1943 in a Summer League Cup tie against Heart of Midlothian.
