Accies Career

Overview

Nephew of the former Accies player and manager of the same name.

On his return from Canada in 1955 he played against Montrose on their first ever visit to Hamilton on league business. He was at centre forward and scored once in an 8-1 win. Bobby Shearer netted four from the inside right mark.

Jacky had been with Kilmarnock, Stranraer and Tarff Rovers before his sojourn to North America, alas he never showed the class required by his uncle, who was manager at the time. While Jacky, junior, was in the RAF he played for them.

Born in Darvel on 23rd November 1922.

Debut on 19th November 1955 in a Scottish League match at home to Montrose in an 8-1 win in which he scored.
