CONLIN, George (1933)

Overview

George was a former Baillieston Junior who went to Rangers and it was from there that he signed for Hamilton. An inside left he scored on his Accies debut and then met with an injury shortly afterwards which more or less finished his career at Douglas Park.

While at Baillieston he was in their Intermediate League side and as such was part of a breakaway group of teams which were in dispute over signing on terms from senior clubs. When the dispute was resolved Rangers had to pay the Station Park club £30 for George. Willie McAndrew secured his signature when he was freed by the Ibrox club after 4 years. On his Accies debut he pleased the critics. A week later he was injured against St Mirren and when he was able to play again his time at Accies had come to an end.

Debut on 12th August 1933 in a Scottish League match at home to Partick Thistle in which he scored.
