Overview

Abie was part of a double signing from Penicuik Athletic along with Howard Fairley, in 1971. An inside forward, his first game was at Stirling in a 3-0 defeat, while in his final match in 1973, he came on as a sub and scored in a 5-1 defeat of Brechin City. Made a promising start with Accies but was unable to sustain it. He was not alone in that situation as the club was in a period of transition.

Debut on 4th December 1971 in a Scottish League match away to Stirling Albion in a 3-0 defeat.
