Overview

Was with Cambuslang Rangers, Airdrie, Bristol Rovers and Sunderland before being signed in 1912. Spent only one year at Hamilton where he played at centre or right half, a strong forcing player. Helped to bring out the best in the younger players around him.

While with Airdrieonians, he was a member of the side which won the Second Division Championship and the Lanarkshire Cup in 1902-03. While with Bristol Rovers he played in the English Southern League and played three seasons in which time he appeared 90 times for them. While at Sunderland his total was 94. Guy was born in the mining village of Newton.

Debut on 17th August 1912 in a Scottish League match away to Queen’s Park.
