MITCHELL, William (1919)

Overview

An inside left who only appearance was at the close of the 1918-19 season when he came on loan from Celtic. He had been with St Anthony’s as a junior when he signed for the Parkhead side in July 1918. He also appeared as a loanee for Clydebank and Dumbarton before a transfer took him to Partick Thistle. Clever enough but lacked pace. His best spell was while with Thistle where he spent a season, then moved to Alloa Athletic in 1920. He was from Govan.

Debut on 12th April 1919 in a Scottish League match at home to Queen’s Park.

Scottish League 1 Appearance.
