BENNETT, Thomas (2005)

Overview

Tom came to Hamilton at the start of the 2005-06 season from Kidderminster Harriers. A left sided midfielder who was tall, 5’ 11” and well built at 12sts 6lbs. Showed up well to start with but an injury put paid to his Accies career and he retired not long after coming to New Douglas Park.

Among his previous clubs were Wolverhampton Wanderers, with 115 appearances, Walsall, Stockport County, his transfer there was £75,000, Boston United, with whom he played in their inaugural season in the English Football League, and Aston Villa. He had joined up at Villa Park as a fourteen year old. In 2006 he was acting as a Youth Coach with Blackburn Rovers.

Away from football he was vocalist in Stockport rock band named “Fracture”. Originally from Falkirk, where he was born on 12th December 1969.

Debut on 30th July 2005 in a League Challenge Cup tie away to Queen’s Park in a 3-0 win.
