ROONEY, Thomas (1899)

Overview

Came to Accies from Mossend Celtic in 1899 with team mate Hugh Murphy, he was a useful inside forward and was the number one contender for the number 10 jersey for a couple of seasons. Scored some fine goals for the club, one of which was in the 1902 Lanarkshire Cup Final when Accies won 3-0 versus Albion Rovers.

Playing for Carfin Emmett in season 1903-04. Chosen to play for Lanarkshire versus Renfrewshire while at Mossend in 1898.

Debut 9th August 1899 in a Scottish League match away to Leith Athletic.
