"Badger" was a bundle of energy in the middle of the park, similar in style and stature to Billy Bremner. He had played as a junior with Petershill and Ashfield before he went to Queen of the South in 1984. He was with them for five years when Clyde came along and offered £25,000 for him and this was accepted. Billy McLaren was the next manager to sign him when he cost Accies £20,000 when he came to Douglas Park along with Gary Clark in June 1991. Billy was a first class acquisition, with his high work rate. He was a member of the Accies side which won the B and Q Cup in December 1991. He left Hamilton after a three year spell and went to Stirling Albion for a £17,000 fee. He was a regular at Forthbank before he gave up the game due to business pressures. In 1999 he was one of the coaches at Broadwood with Clyde. In 2004 he took over as Manager to Clyde. A printer by trade.
