HUNT, Pat (1922)
Overview
Pat came from Shawfield Juniors in November 1923 as the centre half position was difficult to fill and he was given the opportunity to make it his own. He held it for a spell before Hugh McNeil took over later in the season. Pat then reclaimed the number 5 jersey the following season and held on to it with some determined displays.
In 1927 it was rumoured that he was likely to move to England and it came to pass in November of 1928 when Burnley spent £2,000 to take him south to join former Accies colleagues, George Sommerville and John Steel. His career while there was interrupted by a series of injuries. Yet another move took him to Belfast Celtic and on his debut on 6th December 1930 he scored two goals for them. In January 1933 he made an appearance with Partick Thistle’s second eleven.
He was born in Darlington and was 5’9” in height and weighed 11sts 10lbs.
Debut against Partick Thistle on 17th November 1923 away in a 1-0 win.
