KEDDIE, Joe (1937)

Overview

Joe was a goalscoring inside forward initially while at Douglas Park and was signed from Niddrie Thistle. Brentford showed an interest in him in March 1938. When the pre-season trial match was played in August 1938, Joe appeared at centre half in the “B” team.

In 1940 he was a guest player with Hibs. Irish club, Glentoran were next to ask for him, this request was granted, in February 1941. He was centre half and captain of a Scottish side which was defeated 5-4 by the English in Bombay in 1944. Two years later while attached to Leith Athletic he played against an Army XI, also in India.

Joe died following a road accident.

Debut on 27th March 1937 in a Scottish League match at home to St Johnstone.
