Overview

A small midfielder who spent a season at Hamilton in 1970-71. He was one of the scorers in a remarkable match at Forfar when Accies won by the odd goal in eleven.

He had been a junior with Fauldhouse United, while there he was capped, prior to stepping up to Kilmarnock in September 1967, making four appearances for them before he moved to Queen of the South in July, 1968. The following December he was parading his skills with Stranraer.

The close season of 1970 meant another move, this time to Accies. He didn't score very often but when he did they were important ones, and spectacular, like the one he scored at Clydebank in a rare away win that year. On leaving Douglas Park he turned his attentions to the juniors and Shotts Bon Accord took him to Hannah Park.

His best spell as a junior, was still ahead of him and that was with Blantyre Vics, not only was he capped while there, but he captained them to their Scottish Cup success in 1982, going on to become their Manager. Coached Lesmahagow Juniors before following Billy Whitefield to Cumnock in 1995. Tommy is an uncle of David Hamilton who played for the club during the 2004-05 season.

Debut in a Scottish League Cup tie on 8th August 1970 at home to Stranraer which was lost 3-2. He scored.
