TONNER, James (1926)

Overview

An outside left who had left Bo’ness for Burnley and it was from the English club that he came to Douglas Park in October 1926. He shaped well and couldn’t be criticised following his initial outing in the hoops. A good crosser of the ball. His earlier career had seen him with Bungalow City, a Rosyth side, then he moved to Dunfermline Athletic before joining Clapton Orient in 1919. A return to Fife followed when he signed for Lochgelly United prior to going to Bo’ness.

Debut on 9th October 1926 in a Scottish League fixture at home to Dundee United.
