ROXBURGH, George (1907)

Overview

He played centre half for Renfrew Victoria in the Scottish Junior Cup Final in 1905 against the winners Ashfield and was capped for Scotland at junior level.

He came to Douglas Park in 1907 and while there he played most of his matches as a left back, though on a number of occasions he played in the three half back positions. He was unable to displace another former Renfrew player, Jock Davie and in 1911 he moved to Motherwell where he appeared mainly in the reserve team.

His next move was to Abercorn and while there he was a steady player for them rarely missing a match that season. Many at Hamilton were sorry to see him go as he was a handy man to have around.

Debut on 16th November 1907 in a Scottish League match away to Third Lanark.
