Accies Career

Overview

Appeared with Tayport before becoming a Junior Internationalist while with Linlithgow Rose and he was signed by Allan Maitland in 2003. A flying left winger with tremendous acceleration and good ball skills. He lacked consistency at times. Accies fans were a bit disappointed when it was announced that he had signed an agreement with Gus McPherson’s St Mirren prior to the end of the 2004-05 season and he was on his way to Love Street.

By January 2006 he had established himself in a strong Buddies squad tipped for promotion at that stage of the season, which they achieved. Never quite able to hold down a regular spot under Gus McPherson in the Premier League and Mark returned to New Douglas Park under freedom of contract in 2008 and looked set to be an asset to Accies in the Premier League under Billy Reid. He was used mainly from the bench until an injury put paid to further appearances until the near the end of the season. Mark then moved to Partick Thistle in a two year deal. At the end of June, 2010, he left Firhill by mutual consent to join Ross County.

Born on 30th November 1980.

Debut on 2nd August 2003 in a League Challenge Cup at home to St Johnstone which was lost 3-2 after extra time.
