Overview
Jimmy had been a member of Glasgow Perthshire’s winning side in the 1944 Scottish Junior Cup Final. His appearance in an Accies jersey in 1945 was at outside right.
He was signed by Dumbarton later and when he was given a free by them he contemplated returning to the juniors until Jimmy McStay, then Accies manager suggested otherwise in 1947 and Jimmy went on to give his best for the club until he was released in 1952 by which time he was playing his football in either of the wing half back positions.
Former Motherwell player, Willie McFadyen, who was managing Dundee United signed him in October of 1952.
Debut on 6th January 1945 in a Southern League match away to Partick Thistle.
