CHALK, Charlie (1904)

Overview

One of a number of new and fairly experienced players that were introduced at Douglas Park in 1904 following the winning of the Second Division Championship the season previous. The club officials were anxious to retain the title and therefore boost their chance of being elected to the First Division as was the situation in those days.

Charlie had seen service with Rangers and his knowledge as an inside forward was looked upon as crucial to Accies hopes. He lost his place in the side to a young Jimmy Dargue from the junior ranks and left Hamilton to move to Plymouth Argyle.

Debut on 10th September 1904 in a Scottish League match at home to Aberdeen in which he scored.
