MASON, Bob (1908)

Overview

Came from Clyde on loan in October 1908. He then joined Bradford City on a permanent basis a year later.

With Stalybridge Celtic in April 1914. He was resigned from Bradford Park Avenue by Accies in October 1917. Played as a junior with Burnbank Athletic. One report also stated that he had played for Royal Albert and Abercorn as a senior, though this has not been certified. A native of Burnbank. He was known as “The Invincible Mason”. He died in May 1958.

His brother, Willie also played for Burnbank Athletic with whom he was capped for Scotland before moving up a grade to St Bernard’s in June 1922.

Debut on 17th October 1908 in a Scottish League match away to Aberdeen.
