KENNY, Willie (1935)

Overview

For his position, he was reckoned to be on the small side. With Larkhall YMCA before being signed by Partick Thistle, He was then reinstated to Burnbank Athletic and while there he was honoured on three occasions by the International selectors. A goalkeeper who appeared on two occasions but did not impress on either.

He turned senior again at the close of the 1930-31 season. When he was released by St Mirren in 1935 he appeared as a trialist with East Stirlingshire before he was signed by Irish League side, Larne.

It was with Accies in a crisis due to an opening day injury to Jimmy Morgan in 1936 that he was signed, being the third keeper to appear in the early matches. When Burnbank Athletic were due to play a Scottish Junior Cup tie in 1941 he was put on stand by, but was not required.

Debut on 5th September 1936 in a Scottish League match away to Hibernian.
