He was the subject of a protest by Albion Rovers in a Lanarkshire Cup tie. It was alleged that he had appeared as a junior after turning senior. It was upheld. Accies won the replay. He was previously with Falkirk and the junior side, Airdrie St Margaret’s.

Debut on 18th August 1900 in a Scottish League match at home to Port Glasgow Athletic.
