Accies Career
Overview
While at Gretna he was dubbed “Dr Goals”. In 2005 he equalled Jimmy Greaves’ record of scoring six hat tricks in a season. While with the Raydale Club he carried out his profession as a doctor, working at Wishaw General Hospital.
He came to New Douglas Park in January 2009 following a spell in America. Billy Reid had tried to sign him several times while he was playing in this country. On his Accies debut he was given little chance to shine against a tough Dundee United defence. He appeared not to be fully fit as he hadn’t played in earnest from November 2008.
With Bonnybridge Juniors before he commenced his senior career with Falkirk during which time he suffered twice breaking his leg, and also had a loan period with Camelon Juniors. He moved to East Fife in 2002 and while there he netted 31 goals in 66 appearances. Kenny earned rave notices when he continued his remarkable goalscoring with Gretna as they moved through the leagues.
As the goals dried up he went on loan to St Johnstone and Northampton Town before he decided to cross the Atlantic and played with Real Salt Lake and it was from there that he came to Hamilton. Never managed to find his scoring touch with Accies and he was allowed to leave the club in May 2009.
He was then signed by newly promoted, St Johnstone. The following term he again signed for Falkirk as “The Bairns” prepared for a season in the First Division. He is also a Company Director with Town House Restaurants which he owns and operates close to the Falkirk Wheel.
