Accies Career

Overview

Turned out for the reserves before making his first team debut against Stenhousemuir on 22nd March 1997 in a 1-1 game at Cliftonhill.

He had joined Chelsea as a trainee before moving to Dunfermline Athletic in 1989. After five years at East End Park he was released and signed for Dumbarton early in 1994, helping them to promotion from the Second Division. He then appeared with Glentoran and Coleraine in Ireland.

A left sided player and a good crosser of the ball, he became a first team regular and held his place for quite some time due to his ability to perform anywhere on the left side of the field. He left Accies in 2000 under the “Bosman” agreement to sign for Ross County but after a season at Dingwall he returned to Hamilton in July 2001 for another two years.

On being released in 2003 he played junior at Cumnock Juniors before moving to Larkhall Thistle and was later appointed as Assistant Manager with the Gasworks Park club in 2005. Runs a stationery business. Eddie is a regular visitor to New Douglas Park.
