RAE, Henry (1927)

Overview

While with Clyde, in 1923, he went to Argentina with the Third Lanark touring party. He was transferred from Clyde to Brentford for what was considered as a substantial fee. It was from the London club that he came to Douglas Park while nearing the end of his playing career. Gave a good account of himself in the game against Kilmarnock when he made his first appearance in 1927 for Accies.

At the age of 39 he was appointed as trainer to Ayr United in 1935. He was also assistant trainer at Clyde then went to Hibernian as trainer also. His next role was as Brentford’s scout in Scotland. He was a versatile performer who could do a turn at wing half or when the occasion demanded, at centre half. Harry played with Benburb as a junior prior to joining Morton for a brief spell and it was from the Cappielow side that he moved to Clyde in 1916. Born in Glasgow in 1896.

Debut on 26th November 1927 in a Scottish League match at home to Kilmarnock.
