ARMIT, Peter (1954)

Overview

One of the many good left wingers who have graced Accies ranks. Peter was a diminutive and skilful player in junior football with Broxburn Athletic before turning senior with St Johnstone in 1951. He then moved to Stenhousemuir and it was while he was there that Accies considered signing him. This they did in 1954. He came to Hamilton in a deal which meant Willie Young and £225 going to Ochilview. In his two plus years at Douglas Park he was a firm favourite with the fans.

Debut on 11th September 1954 in a Scottish League match at home to Cowdenbeath in a 2-1 win.
