Overview

A product of Blantyre Boys Club, he signed for Heart of Midlothian in August 1992. With them he was in their reserve side which reached the Final of the Reserve League Cup in 1997 and 1998, unfortunately For Stuart both ties were lost. He went on loan to My Pa of Finland and Clydebank before signing for Linfield then Clydebank.

A talented left sided player who was popular in his time with Accies. His fiery nature sometimes let him down, not always seeing eye to eye with officialdom and also some opponents. Nevertheless he was a good signing in October 2000 from Clydebank for Hamilton in his two year spell at New Douglas Park before he moved on to Alloa Athletic in June 2003.

During his season there, he missed only one League fixture for the Recreation Park club scoring six times in the process. Then followed a move to Brechin City in 2004. Stuart was again on the move during the 2007-08 season when he signed for Berwick Rangers.

He had the honour of scoring Accies first goal at New Douglas Park when he netted a penalty in the Friendly against Sunderland on 28th July 2001. Stuart was a Scottish Schools Internationalist while at Trinity High in Cambuslang in 1991 and 1992, receiving recognition on 6 occasions between Under 15 and Under 16.
