Overview

St Roch's was Eddie's club before his move to Accies. It was in 1971 at Alloa that he made his initial appearance for the club at centre-half as a signed player. He played in the first seventeen league games before losing his place in the side although he did reappear for a short time before being released at the end of the season, whereupon he was reinstated to Rob Roy.

He had played for Castlemilk based, St Martin's Boys Guild, before going to St Roch's, he also captained the Glasgow District Youth side in Iceland.

Debut on 10th April 1971 as a trialist away to Brechin City in a Scottish League match which ended 2-2.
