Overview

Came on loan in 1976 from Motherwell and at the end of the season Accies fancied him, however they could not meet his personal terms. He was a Northern Irish Internationalist, being capped six times between 1967 and 1970, playing twice against Scotland, while playing for Dundee and Motherwell. He scored his only international goal in a World Cup qualifier at home to Turkey. His country won the match 4-1.

He had gone to Sunderland in September 1964 from Distillery, the Irish League club, and had cost the Dens Parkers £3000 when he was transferred from Roker Park in 1966. Four years later Billy moved to Motherwell. He was also capped at Schoolboy, Amateur, Youth and three times at Under 23 level. A winger, he went on to become a Coach at Fir Park.

Born in Belfast on 2nd July 1944.

Debut on 26th December 1976 in a Scottish League match at home to Morton which was won 1-0.
