Accies 0 Queen of The South 3: Saturday, 14 August 1999

Hamilton's poor start to the season continued when they crashed to a 3-0 defeat at home to Queen of the South. On target for the visitors were Brian Caldwell, Billy Findlay and Stevie Mallan. Substitutes Lee Bailey and Findlay certainly made an immediate impact when they came on the field and with their first touches netted the second goal. Finlay hammered home after Bailey's header came off the bar. A second Bailey header off the bar in the dying seconds was driven home by Steve Mallan. Youngster Bryan Caldwell scored Queen's opener in 16 minutes. The visitors had the better of the first half against a young Hamilton side with Mallan missing a great chance to increase the half-time lead.

Hamilton improved after the break and Michael Moore and substitute Michael Martin hit the bar before the late Doonhamers double.
