GARDINER, Archie (1936)

Overview

A Hamilton lad, he attended Beckford Street school. He had been with Heart of Midlothian before moving to play in England, where he was with Leicester City.

Previous to signing in 1935, he was with Wrexham. He played well in the reserves and netted quite a handful of goals. Two years later he was a member of the Hamilton side who appeared versus Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Cup when the ground attendance record was achieved.

Debut on 24th August 1936 in a Lanarkshire Cup tie away to Airdrieonians.
