ROTHERA, Walter (1945)

Overview

First appeared in the later war years as a centre half and he received very good reports right from the time of his signing in 1944 from Shawfield Juniors. He was converted to right half more than by accident than design and there he continued to distinguish himself.

A skilful and resilient type who moved to Queen of the South in 1951 after appearing in 122 consecutive League matches for Accies. While at Palmerston he was used at inside right and that only emphasised his versatility and ability.

Debut on 25th August 1945 in a Southern League match at home to Hibernian.
