FERGUSON, John (1907)

Overview

Signed from Glenbuck Cherrypickers in time for the opening of the 1907-08 season. When he made the first team he played at left half and this allowed Phil Watson senior, to move over to the right side.

A cultured wing half, John kept the position for just over a year until a inexplicable loss of form resulted in him being dropped and John Scott came into the side and this resulted in Ferguson leaving Douglas Park for Nithsdale Wanderers in 1909. In July 1911 he signed for Cowdenbeath.

Debut 31st August 1907 in a Scottish League match at home to St Mirren.
