CHERRY, Thomas (1897)
Overview
Born in Torpichen in 1873, he was with East Benhar Heatherbell before signing for Motherwell in 1895. Played in England until being reinstated back to East Benhar in April 1897. Then signed again by Motherwell.
He formally came to Hamilton on 29th December 1897 from Motherwell as a centre half and played in Accies inaugural Scottish League season, one of three individuals who turned out in that role in the fourteen League fixtures played. He obviously did not meet the criteria of the day. Moved to Grimsby Town in the 1898-99 season. Three years later he was back in Scotland with East Benhar Rangers.
Debut 4th December 1897 in a Friendly away to Leith Athletic.
