Overview

Sam was a left back who was signed from Royal Albert in 1920. A month after his signing, he was back playing for them, on loan. Spent just less than two seasons with Accies. On leaving Douglas Park he appeared with Arthurlie and Dykehead. He had played earlier in his career with Ayr United, in 1919, having been with his local junior club, Lugar Boswell Thistle, previously. 24 years of age and weighed 11sts 7lbs. In height he was 5’8”. He later emigrated to America and in 1923, while in Denver, he was captain of a side calling themselves, “All Scots”.

Debut on 6th March 1920 in a Scottish League match at home to Partick Thistle.
