FREEMAN, Joe (1909)
Overview
An English centre forward who had been with Chester before coming north in 1909 as Accies endeavoured to get someone who could make the number 9 jersey their own.
Joe, in his season at Douglas Park, was a bit up and down even though he finished top scorer in the League for Hamilton that season. His best performance was in an away League fixture against Patrick Thistle when he became the first Accies player to be credited with an away hat trick. In September 1911 he joined Walsall from Accies, he had also been with Shrewsbury and possibly Glossop prior to coming to Douglas Park.
Debut on 17th August 1909 in a Scottish League match away to Celtic.
Scottish League 21 Appearances 11 Goals (1 Hat trick)
